Small plane crashes close to retirement community in Pennsylvania with 5 aboard

The crash happened around 3 p.m., according to the FAA.

A plane crashed in Pennsylvania near a retirement village south of Lancaster Airport on Sunday afternoon with five people inside, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA said the crash happened around 3 p.m. 

Gov. Josh Shapiro, D-Pa., said the state police has officers on the ground assisting first responders.  

 No one on the ground was injured and the five passengers were taken to hospitals in the area, according to local news reports.
