Transgender teen arrested in connection to Valentine's Day school shooting plot: Report

A transgender teen was arrested in connection to a Valentine's Day school shooting plot, according to a news release from local police on Friday.

The student was inspired by the Parkland mass shooting, according to authorities.

The Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department revealed on Friday that the FBI on Feb. 11 informed them about a possible shooting plot at Mooresville High School.

Officials searched the home of 18-year-old Trinity Shockley, who was identified as a person of interest in connection to the plot.

Prosecutors filed charges against Shockley on Feb. 13 for "conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of intimidation with a threat to commit terrorism," according to reports.
