Campus Massacre: Two dead, eight critically wounded in Brown University shooting, manhunt underway

Police were carrying out a massive manhunt at Brown University in Rhode Island after a shooter dressed in black left mass casualties.

Two people are dead and eight victims are in critical but stable condition at a hospital, Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said.

 The University and President Donald Trump initially stated that a suspect was in custody, though school officials subsequently clarified that the suspect was still at large, according to the Associated Press.

"I have been briefed on the shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island. The FBI is on the scene. .... God bless the victims and the families of the victims!" he posted on Truth Social.

Authorities said the shooting occurred at an engineering school building as students were preparing for final exams

The Providence, R.I., university is part of the Ivy League.
