FBI indicates possible terror link to Austin mass shooting

The FBI on Sunday indicted that the gunman in the Sunday morning mass shooting in Austin, Texas, possessed materials that could indicate a link to terrorism.

The shooting left 3 dead and 14 wounded. The gunman was killed on scene after police officers responded. A special agent with the San Antonio Field Office said in a press conference that the evidence recovered thus far indicated a "potential nexus to terrorism."

He asserted that it was too early to reach a final determination, but noted that materials in the gunman's vehicle and on his person suggested the link.

While the FBI did not identify the nature of possible terrorism, the attack comes amid ongoing U.S. strikes on Iran and retaliatory attacks across the Middle East from that country's military.
