Fort Hood shooter to be executed on Dec. 3

Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will be executed on Dec. 3, The Hill reported, citing an Army memo.
In 2009, Hasan killed 13 people in a violent rampage on the Fort Hood base in Texas, which he said he committed over U.S. military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He is set to be executed by firing squad at the same base. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell announced the execution on Monday, saying that President Donald Trump had signed off on the use of the firing squad.
Hasan's execution will be the first for the U.S. military since 1961. Private John Bennett was hanged at Fort Leavenworth, Kans., for the rape and attempted murder of a child.
