ICE arrests illegal 'wanted terrorist' migrant working as truck driver
Uzbekistan authorities issued an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Akhror Bozorov in 2022 for being a member of a terrorist organization, who allegedly helped spread terrorist propaganda for the Jihad movement.
The Department of Homeland Security on Monday announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have arrested an illegal migrant who was allegedly a "wanted terrorist" in Uzbekistan, and who worked as a truck driver in Kansas.
Uzbekistan authorities issued an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Akhror Bozorov in 2022 for being a member of a terrorist organization, and the man allegedly helped spread terrorist propaganda for the jihad movement.
The department said the 31-year-old was arrested earlier this month during an operation in Kansas, where he was working as a commercial truck driver. He was granted work authorization in Pennsylvania in 2024 and given a commercial driver's license.
“Not only was Akhror Bozorov—a wanted terrorist—RELEASED into the country by the Biden administration, but he was also given a commercial driver’s license by Governor Shapiro’s Pennsylvania," DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
"This should go without saying, but terrorist illegal aliens should not be operating 18-wheelers on America’s highways," she continued. "Biden and [former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro] Mayorkas allowed countless terrorists to come into our country. President Trump and [Homeland Security] Secretary Kristi Noem unleashed ICE to target these national security threats.”
DHS said Bozorov entered the United States in 2023 and was arrested by Border Patrol before being released into the country.
The arrest comes after the Transportation Department earlier this year issued new regulations designed to crack down on foreign workers getting commercial driver's licenses, but a judge last week paused the order.
