Trump vows 'stronger, tougher, faster, fiercer' military in Quantico speech
He also touted the success of the armed forces branches in meeting their recruiting goals ahead of schedule.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday offered his support to American military leaders during a speech in Quantico, Va., after War Secretary Pete Hegseth vowed to end woke policies in the military.
The speech came as Hegseth ordered the country's senior military leaders from around the world to report to Quantico, without specifying a reason.
"I am with you. I support you. I have your backs 100%," Trump told the gathering of senior officers. "We're going to make our military stronger, tougher, faster, fiercer than it has ever been before."
Trump used much of his speech to highlight his foreign policy agenda, insisting that he would not have been able to broker peace between several foreign nations if the military was not strong.
He also touted the success of the armed forces branches in meeting their recruiting goals ahead of schedule.
