Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Monday night signaled that his feud with President Donald Trump could be fading by responding to a message where the president wished him well.

The pair began feuding over the president's "One Big Beautiful Bill" late last month, and after Musk left government service. The feud escalated last week in a series of social media posts, where Musk claimed the legislation was "disgusting" and accused Trump of intervening in the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Trump appeared to try and defuse the tension with his former ally by telling reporters at the White House on Monday that the pair used to have a good relationship, but did not seem ready to mend the fences.

“We had a great relationship and I wish him well — very well, actually,” Trump said in a video shared on X. Musk responded to the post with a red heart emoji.

Musk has also reposted social media posts from the Trump administration that criticized the Democrat response to riots in downtown Los Angeles.

The pair additionally reportedly spoke over the weekend in an effort to end the feud.
