Melania Trump designates long-time aide Hayley Harrison as her chief of staff
Melania Trump's office said Harrison has played an integral role and demonstrated "exceptional leadership" on the former first lady's team over the past seven years.
Incoming first lady Melania Trump on Friday announced that her long-time aide Hayley Harrison will be her personal chief of staff when she returns to the East Wing of the White House next year.
The designation marks Trump's first appointment since her husband won reelection earlier this month. Her most prominent chief of staff during President-elect Donald Trump's first term was Stephanie Grisham, who abruptly resigned after the January 6 riot at the United States Capitol.
Melania Trump's office said Harrison has played an "integral role" and demonstrated "exceptional leadership" on the former first lady's team over the past seven years.
"She has a strong understanding of White House operations, and as Chief of Staff, Mrs. Harrison will oversee and manage the East Wing’s team while strategically liaising with other parts of government," the office said in a post on X.
Donald Trump appointed his co-campaign manager Susie Wiles as his White House Chief of Staff shortly after being elected. Wiles has been credited as an important part of the incoming president's reelection.
