President Donald Trump on Wednesday confirmed that the first paycheck of his second term in the Oval Office went to the White House Historical Association to help fund some major renovations.

Trump, who is a billionaire in his own right, said he would help personally fund some of the big renovations he has planned over the next four years, including a significant upgrade to the White House Ballroom.

The president has consistently donated his $400,000 annual salary as commander-in-chief to charities or government agencies since his first term in 2017. He donated his very first presidential paycheck to the National Park Service, per the Washington Examiner.

“My first 'Paycheck' went to the White House Historical Association, as we make much needed renovations to the beautiful ‘People’s House,'" Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Great improvements and beautification is taking place at the White House, at levels not seen since its original creation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump also claimed that he was the only president besides George Washington to donate his salary, but John F. Kennedy and Herbert Hoover also donated their salaries to charity, according to Politico.
