President Trump suggested sending those who vandalize Tesla vehicles and sales centers to prison in El Salvador.
The Trump administration has transferred illegal immigrants with suspected gang ties to jail in El Salvador in a partnership with Nayib Bukele, the country's president.
"I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20 year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. "Perhaps they would serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions."
Vandalism of Tesla vehicles, charging stations and sales centers has been reported in many cities including Kansas City, Seattle, Massachusetts, Las Vegas, Charleston and more after Elon Musk, the company's CEO, began working as the head of Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency.
In a separate social media post, Trump said the vandals should face up to 20 years in prison.
