Trump switched planes after intel on possible attack from shoulder-fired missile launcher: reports

President Trump switched planes when departing from Turkey last month following U.S. intelligence that an Iranian plan to kill him was possibly going to be carried out with a shoulder-fired missile launcher aimed at Air Force One, according to several news reports.

That Trump switched planes when departing Ankara was first reported Monday night by The Washington Post. However, the possible means of the assassination plot began to emerge in news reports late Tuesday. 

Officials told NBC News that warnings of a possible shoulder-fired missile led to Trump’s secret plane swap. 

Trump confirmed on Tuesday night confirmed the decoy plan and said he was following the direction of the Secret Service, amid U. S. intelligence that a person near the NATO summit the president was attending was seen with a shoulder-fired missile, according to GBnews.com, a news outlet in Great Britain.
