President Donald Trump posted a vague warning on social media on Monday evening, telling everyone in the Iranian capital of Tehran to evacuate amid an ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The conflict between Israel and Iran began last week after Israel launched a preemptive air campaign against the Iranian nuclear program and key regime and military officials. The United States has largely stayed out of the conflict, but Trump has pressured Iran to sign a nuclear deal.

Trump did not clarify who he was directing to evacuate the Iranian city, but emphasized Iran should have signed the deal. The reason for the warning was also not immediately clear.

"Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign," Trump posted to Truth Social. "What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"

The warning also comes after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth directed more resources to the Middle East over the weekend in order to bolster U.S. defensive capabilities in the region.
