Trump warns Russia's Medvedev is 'entering dangerous territory' with criticism of US foreign policy
Medvedev criticized Trump's approach to the Russian Ukraine war earlier this week, stating the president was playing the "ultimatum game" with Russia, and that each "ultimatum" was a "step towards war" with the United States.
President Donald Trump on Thursday morning warned former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he's "entering dangerous territory," after the official criticized recent U.S. foreign policy.
Medvedev criticized Trump's approach to the Russia-Ukraine war earlier this week, stating that the president was playing the "ultimatum game" with Russia, and that each "ultimatum" was a "step towards war" with the United States.
Trump warned on Monday that he could start imposing high tariffs on Russia in "10 or 12 days." The president also warned on Wednesday that he could shorten the timeline for Russia to agree to a peace deal with Ukraine.
Trump told Medvedev to "watch his words" after the recent criticism and claimed that he was okay with Russia and the U.S. doing "little business" together.
“I don’t care what India does with Russia,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They can take their dead economies down together, for all I care. We have done very little business with India, their Tariffs are too high, among the highest in the World.
“Likewise, Russia and the USA do almost no business together," he continued. "Let’s keep it that way, and tell Medvedev, the failed former President of Russia, who thinks he’s still President, to watch his words. He’s entering very dangerous territory!”
Medvedev, who also served as Russia's prime minister from 2012 through 2020, has not commented on the latest rebuttal.
