President Donald Trump on Friday afternoon makes an announcement from the Oval Office of the White House.

The announcement comes after Trump teased changing the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War. He is expected to sign an executive order that makes the Department of War a "secondary" title for the Department of Defense, and "secretary of war" a secondary title for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Friday.

Republican lawmakers have also unveiled legislation to restore the "Department of War" name to the Defense Department.
