Weiss has overseen a dramatic overhaul of CBS News after the buyout of her own The Free Press.
CBS News's Bari Weiss will reportedly oversee CNN's editorial operations should Paramount Skydance move forward with the acquisition of Warner Bros, Axios first reported.
Paramount is reportedly looking for a partner for Weiss to handle the business side of operations, which Axios suggested signaled Weiss would take overall editorial decisions for both outlets.
Weiss has overseen a dramatic overhaul of CBS News after the buyout of her own The Free Press. She achieved national recognition for a high-profile exit from the New York Times. She later created her own digital outlet.
Weiss's tenure at CBS News has been controversial and witnessed the firing of high-profile network stalwarts, such as Scott Pelley of "60 Minutes."
