Lauren Boebert's son charged with sexual exploitation of a minor

Local authorities in Colorado announced Monday that GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert's son was arrested over the weekend on felony charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation of a child.

Tyler Boebert, who is 21-years-old, was arrested Sunday on multiple charges but was released later that day after he posted a $10,000 bond, according to the Garfield County Sheriff's Office. The office did not indicate what the other charges were.

Court documents reviewed by the Denver Post claimed the younger Boebert was charged with three felony counts, including one that alleged he intended to "deal in, sell or distribute … any sexually exploitative material." Another involved videotaped material.

The records also indicate that the alleged offenses began in 2024 and include two other felony charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

"I love my son," Lauren Boebert told Axios. "We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time."

The new charges, which come after a felony review process by the 9th Judicial District Attorney's Office, come as the defendant is scheduled for sentencing hearings next month in two unrelated cases.

He will appear in court for an appearance on bond hearing in the new case on Aug. 19.
