FBI Operation Summer Heat 2.0 arrests nearly 9,000, locates more than 1,400 children
The operation represented the second year of the FBI’s Summer Heat initiative, which brings together federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies for coordinated investigations and enforcement actions.
The FBI said its nationwide Operation Summer Heat 2.0 resulted in thousands of arrests and the identification or location of more than 1,400 children during a nearly four-month campaign targeting violent crime and other serious offenses.
According to figures released by the bureau, 8,927 people were arrested during the operation, which ran from June 1 through Sept. 20, 2026.
Authorities also reported locating 1,410 children in investigations involving violent crimes against children.
