Hundreds form human chain around Kennedy Center to protest possible demolition

Hundreds of protestors gathered on Friday outside the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts against President Trump’s threats to defund and close the center.

Many of the protestors said they fear Trump is going to tear down the Kennedy Center.

US District Judge Christopher Cooper has ordered the Kennedy Center leadership to give 30 days' notice prior to any major changes to the building.

People gathered to walk the route known as “Hands Around the Kennedy Center.” 

Participants lined up and held hands to form a human chain to block the center.
