Pentagon update to database brings total wounded in Iran war to 861

The Pentagon has added 37 U.S. service members to its official tally of troops wounded during the Iran war, bringing the total to 861, according to the Defense Department’s casualty database, according to The Washington Post.

The new figures include 29 Navy sailors and eight Marines. 

The database does not say when or how they were injured, although a Navy official said the sailors have returned to duty.

Pentagon officials previously acknowledged there have been delays in recording some injuries, including traumatic brain injuries.
