Lindsay Clancy's ex-husband threatens legal actions against influencers peddling conspiracy theories

The ex-husband of Lindsey Clancy, Patrick Clancy, is threatening through his lawyer to pursue legal action against "so-called influencers" who have accused him of the killings and claimed he framed Lindsey Clancy for them. 

Patrick Clancy's attorney, Howard Cooper, said in a statement that the “relentless, escalating and destructive defamation campaign” has harmed his client's reputation and livelihood, the New York Times reported. 

Lindsey Clancy, 36, was charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the January 2023 deaths of her three children, ages 5, 3 and 8 months, inside the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. She then cut herself and jumped out a window of her home, paralyzing herself in the fall. 

While she admitted to carrying out the killings, she pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, arguing that she had been experiencing postpartum psychosis and heard a voice commanding her to kill the children and herself. Her trial ended last week when the jury deadlocked. 

The case drew national attention, especially on social media platforms, where many women voiced support for Lindsey Clancy and promoted conspiracy theories claiming Patrick had either committed the killings or manipulated his then-wife into committing them.
