Buffalo Bills to play U.S. and Canadian anthems at opening game
The team announced their first-ever draft pick from Canada in April.
The Buffalo Bills will play the U.S. national anthem and the Canadian national anthem at the team's opening game Sunday, amid a trade war between the bordering nations.
"For the first time in Highmark Stadium history, we will celebrate the American and Canadian anthems during pregame. We can’t wait to have Bills fan Auliʻi Cravalho and [Barenaked Ladies] at our home opener!" the team posted on X.
Cravalho will sing the U.S. anthem and the the Barenaked Ladies will sing Canada's.
Highmark Stadium is situated near the border crossing into Canada. Several members of the team are from Canada or hold dual-citizenship.
