Professional golfer Rory McIlroy captured his second straight Masters Tournament title on Sunday, overcoming hot weather at Augusta National Golf Club.

Unlike his playoff victory a year earlier, McIlroy secured this win in regulation, though it required another comeback.

He's the fourth player in history to win back-to-back green jackets, according to Yahoo! Sports.

He erased a two-shot deficit to Cameron Young through the opening six holes, then fended off challenges from Justin Rose and two-time Masters champion Scottie Scheffler down the stretch.

McIlroy closed with a 71 to finish at 12-under-par 276, one shot ahead of Scheffler.

President Trump reacted to McIlroy's win on Truth Social.

"Congratulations to Rory McIlroy on another Great Championship, The Masters! He performed tremendously under intense pressure, something which few people would be able to even think about doing. With each year, Rory is becoming more and more a LEGEND! I look forward to watching him compete in two weeks at Doral," he wrote.

"The quality of Professional Golfers today has become extraordinary, each and every one of them. They should all be proud of the way they played at The Masters this weekend!" he added.
