Selena Gomez faces lawsuit alleging fraud over mental health startup Wondermind

Actress and singer Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit alleging fraud involving her mental health startup, Wonderland Global.

Wondermind SRS 44 and Bespoke Wondermind SPV filed the lawsuit in Delaware federal court on Aug. 13, USA Today reported.

The lawsuit accuses Gomez, her mom, Mandy Teefy, and their former business partner Daniella Pierson of fraud and breach of contract.

The complaint claims that the plaintiffs invested nearly $1.2 million in the startup in 2022, after Gomez, Teefey and Pierson allegedly "falsely represented that the Company had the infrastructure, leadership, and resources necessary for the Company to launch into a profitable, one-of-its-kind mental health and wellness platform."

A representative for Pierson said in a statement to USA Today that she denies the allegations and welcomes the opportunity to prove in court she never used investor funds for personal expenses. She invested her own money, according to the representative, and did not draw a salary from the company.
