Collins reclaims lead in Maine Senate race: Polls
Notably, none of the three most recent surveys show Jackson leading the contest.
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, has reclaimed the lead in her reelection bid, not merely in a single poll, but in a major polling aggregator.
As of press time, Collins led former Maine Senate President Troy Jackson by 0.2% in the RealClearPolitics polling average. That metric includes six surveys, three of which show Collins leading. One InsiderAdvantage survey shows the race tied while two show Jackson with a lead.
Notably, none of the three most recent surveys show Jackson leading the contest.
The development represents a clear reversal of the race's dynamic, which had seen Collins trailing her Democratic opponent for much of the cycle. She briefly pulled ahead of former nominee Graham Platner, though his withdrawal due to public scandal upended the contest altogether.
Collins has a long history of outperforming her polling, often by high single digits. The race is expected to be among the most competitive of the November midterms.
