DeSantis: 'I do not support Cory Mills'

Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., on Friday made clear that he did not support Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who has faced a House Ethics Committee investigation and allegations from an ex-girlfriend that he threatened to release sexually explicit material of her.

Mills has denied wrongdoing and is seeking the Republican nomination for Congress on Tuesday. DeSantis, for his part, highlighted that the candidate did not have his backing.

"I have not endorsed Cory Mills and I do not support Cory Mills," he told reporters.

Some Republican members of the House have declined to endorse Mills, while Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., has endorsed Ryan Elijah, one of his primary opponents.

President Donald Trump has endorsed Mills, though the primary is expected to be competitive.
