Trump endorses Lindsey Graham's sister, Darline Graham Nordone, in her bid for a full Senate term

President Donald Trump on Tuesday announced he's endorsing the candidacy of Lindsey Graham's sister, Darline Graham Nordone. 

Nordone confirmed last month that she would seek a full term in the Senate, after Gov. Henry McMaster, R-N.C., appointed her to replace her late brother. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that he had asked Nordone "for the Good of our Nation" to run for the senate in the special republican primary on August 11. 

"She is a spectacular person, and a true American Patriot. Lindsey was one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known, and his sister shares his deep love of our Country, and the State of South Carolina," Trump said. 

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., died unexpectedly in July. Nordone joins a crowded primary field, which already includes Reps. Ralph Norman and Russell Fry, R-S.C., as well as former Graham challenger Mark Lynch.
