White House Legislative Director James Braid is leaving the administration, Vice President JD Vance announced on Thursday morning.

"Not only is James brilliant, he is one of the hardest workers you will ever meet. He’s been with me in every fight I’ve been in, from day one in my senate office through the transition and the President's transformative second term," Vance posted on X. "He has served the President with distinction and I couldn't be prouder of him. Very excited to see what he does next."

The White House Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs is responsible for maintaining the president's relationship with Congress and coordinating efforts to pass legislation in both chambers.

Braid has held the post since early 2025.
