Trump arrives in Georgia to stump for Mike Collins
Trump's arrival in Georgia comes as part of a last-minute midterm campaign blitz to bolster Republicans in competitive races, particular in the battle to hold the upper chamber of Congress.
President Donald Trump on Friday touched down in Georgia to campaign for Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., who hopes to oust Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga.
"Just landed in Georgia, heading over to the Big Rally — Lots of people! See you soon," he posted on Truth Social. "Will be broadcast LIVE on Right Side Broadcasting Network (RSBN)! We must get Congressman Mike Collins elected to the U.S. Senate — He is far superior to Pee Wee Herman (Jon Osoff). Likewise, Rick Jackson will be a fantastic Governor of the Peach State!"
Collins is facing an uphill battle to oust Ossoff and polling has shown the race as leaning Democratic. The gubernatorial contest, however, has pit Republican Rick Jackson against former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and appears more competitive.
