Trump denies that family members of aircraft carrier crewmen worried about poor conditions

President Donald Trump on Friday denied reports that the family members of crewman aboard the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln were concerned about worsening conditions on the ship.

The Lincoln is one of the aircraft carriers stationed in the Middle East amid the ongoing Iran war. It is set to be replaced by the U.S.S. George Washington, which is currently en route. But reports have emerged that the crewmen are facing poor conditions and are short on supplies after the vessel has been at sea for more than 240 days, The Hill reported.

Speaking to reporters, Trump denied claims that family members were worried about the situation, saying simply that "no, they're not." He also reiterated that Washington was on its way, saying “[t]hat ship is moving right now, or very shortly and is being replaced with another very similar ship."

Earlier in the conflict, the U.S.S. Gerald Ford had to travel to Crete for repairs after it sustained significant damage to its plumbing system, prompting a flood of its living quarters with water and waste.
