Conservative legal group files judicial conduct compaint against two federal judges

Questions about judicial impartiality have emerged following public comments by two senior federal judges in Minnesota concerning the Trump administration’s Operation Metro Surge, which is an immigration-enforcement campaign that generated an unusually large number of cases in the state’s federal courts.
In a September 17 New York Times report, U.S. District Judges Patrick J. Schiltz and John R. Tunheim discussed the challenges Minnesota’s federal judiciary faced during the operation. More than 1,000 habeas corpus petitions were filed as detainees sought judicial review of their immigration cases.
The Article III Project, conservative legal advocacy organization, has filed a "complaint of judicial misconduct" against the federal judges over the situation.
