Nevada brush fire covers more than 13,000 acres, governor issues state of emergency

A rapid brush fire in Northern ​Nevada has covered more than 13,000 acres, according to reports on Saturday evening.

The fire was reportedly started by humans, according to reports.

Reno Police ⁠are advising residents to monitor the ​Perimeter Map for updated evacuation information, according to the Associated Press.

Governor Joe Lombardo has issued a state of emergency declaration in Washoe County due to the Hawk fire.

“I have declared a state of emergency in Washoe County as we respond to the Hawk Fire, which is spreading quickly and threatening homes and structures,” said Lombardo. “Please heed all warnings from local officials, evacuate immediately if you are ordered to do so, and do not put yourself or first responders at risk.”
