Federal judge orders Trump administration to halt work for one day on DC public golf course
The ruling was made by U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes.
A federal judge on Monday ordered a 24-hour halt to tree cutting at the East Potomac Golf Course, a historic D.C. public golf course.
The ruling was made by U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes. The aging golf course has been part of President Donald Trump’s plans to remake the city.
President Trump in recent days ordered the National Park Service to begin cutting down more than 500 trees at the course.
Reyes issued the order following a tense three-hour hearing in which she accused the government of deceived her with its actions over the holiday weekend.
She also said the 24-hour temporary order could be extended to 14 days, if necessary, according to the Associated Press.
