Senior White House spokesperson Kush Desai announced Wednesday that it is his last day in his current position and will be moving into a senior role at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence in the near future.

Desai served as senior White House deputy press secretary and special assistant to the president, handling the press for the White House on some of its biggest issues, including health, trade and economics.

The former White House official will now serve as the assistant director of national intelligence for strategic communications, according to Axios.

"Today is my last day at the White House," Desai said on X. "Working alongside some of the most dedicated and brilliant patriots under President Trump has been the honor of a lifetime. I'll soon be joining the Office of the Director of National Intelligence."

Desai's departure comes shortly after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt left the team last month and Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton took the reins from former DNI Tulsi Gabbard in July.
