Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., is hosting the 2026 Men’s U.S. Open golf tournament with the homes for rent near the course costing $19,000 to $85,000 for the tournament.

Scottie Scheffler is looking for his fourth major to complete his Grand Slam.

Rory McIlroy is coming off a Masters win, while Xander Schauffele, Cameron Young and Jon Rahm are favorites thus far. However, 156 professionals, amateurs and players in-between make up this year’s field, so the 126th U.S. Open could be a toss up.

Southampton homeowners are renting to golfers and their families for the week of the tournament plus a few more nights. Southampton relaxed its 2-week minimum on rentals for the tournament because golfers typically stay from June 14 to June 22, with some arriving as early as June 12.

However, homeowners need a valid rental permit, proof of compliance with fire and safety codes and a local agent before legally listing their property, according to ROVE Travel.

The 8–9 night stays range in price depending on the distance to Shinnecock and the number of bedrooms or amenities.

Brooks Koepka won the US Open at +1 in 2018 when Shinnecock Hills Golf Club last hosted the tournament. No golfer finished under par in 2018, and the odds of this week's tournament could suggest no one finishes under par again given how challenging the course is.

Shinnecock Hills, founded in 1891, is a links-style course with a few trees on rolling terrain that plays to par 70 at 7,440 yards. It is arguably the hardest course on the tournament rotation given elevation changes, difficult green edges, and tough-to-predict coastal winds, according to the PGA Tour

Tommy Fleetwood holds the Shinnecock course record at 63 (-7), which he shot in the final round of the 2018 tournament to finish as runner-up. Fleetwood is among 36 players in this week’s field who played in the 2018 event.

The first players tee off Thursday at 6:35 a.m.
