Trump warns Arizona voters against putting Democrats back in power: 'You were living in hell'
The president warned that if Democrats regain control of Congress, they would "immediately reopen your borders” and “sell out Arizona to the cartels.”
President Donald Trump warned voters in Arizona on Wednesday against letting Democrats regain control of the House and Senate, reminding them they were "in hell" three years ago when Democrats controlled the Senate and White House.
The comment occurred during the president's rally for Republican candidates in the state and as voters prepare to head to the polls next month.
The president warned that if Democrats regain control of Congress, they would "immediately reopen your borders” and “sell out Arizona to the cartels.”
"They would open the prisons and jails of the planet so that they can come in totally unchecked, totally unvetted," Trump said during a rally in Bullhead City. “If you remember back three, four years ago how bad it was, you were living in hell.”
Trump encouraged voters to cast their ballots for Republicans on Nov. 3 and "declare you are never going back to the disaster ... of the Democrat rule."
The president has also told voters recently to act as though he is on the ballot in the midterms and show up to vote, citing lower voter turnout in the midterms than presidential election years.
