Progressive City Council member Nithya Raman overtook Republican Spencer Pratt in the Los Angeles mayoral primary on Sunday.

Pratt had been leading Raman ever since the primary, but the latest tally shows Raman ahead by more than 3,000 votes, according to Fox News

In the Los Angeles mayoral race, if no candidate gets a majority of the votes in the primary, the top two candidates advance to the general election in November. The Associated Press had called incumbent Democrat Mayor Karen Bass as one of the two candidates who will advance, leaving the second candidate open as more votes came in nearly a week after Election Day.

As of Monday morning, the Associated Press had not called the second candidate. Every active registered voter in California receives mail ballots, and ballots postmarked by Election Day can arrive as much as a week later.
