White House press secretary Katie Zacharia on Tuesday confirmed that President Donald Trump would ramp up his travel to battleground states ahead of the November midterm elections.

"You can expect more of the midterm blitz. Just now, we've added Kentucky and we have a few other stops as he goes down to Florida. So it'll be Georgia, Kentucky, and Florida," Zacharia said, during her first press briefing.

While Kentucky is not the home of any major battleground races, it is the venue for the battle to replace retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. Trump has backed Rep. Andy Barr, R-Ky., for the post and he is the favorite to win.

Georgia, for its part, is home to competitive gubernatorial and Senate races. Rep. Mike Collins, R-Ga., is currently trailing Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., while Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson is neck and neck with Democratic candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms.
