South Carolina police officer fatally hit by train while saving a person from the tracks

A South Carolina police officer was hit and killed by a train Wednesday morning while trying to save a person undergoing a mental health crisis on the railroad tracks. According to Easley Police Department, 22-year-old Officer Matthew Hare had successfully removed the individual from the tracks before an Amtrak train fatally struck him. The individual and other officer were not injured during the incident.
