Huckabee criticizes Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson for suggesting U.S. gives Israel $1.5T for defense

"Neither of these ppl are dumb. I worked w/ them at Fox. They know how to Google basic facts. The US provides $3.8 billion (NOT $1.5 trillion) but Israel spends many X over that on US. We get a huge ROI-are they too lazy to research or intentionally lying?" Huckabee wrote in response to the video.

Mike Huckabee, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, responded to a video clip on X of Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson discussing the level of funding the U.S. provides Israel, saying the amount they mentioned Huckabee said is incorrect.

In the clip, Carlson said that Israel "could not sustain a blockade or defend itself for 24 hours without the $1.5 trillion U.S. military backstopping it and enforcing the long-standing defense guarantee... If that were to go away, Israel would have two choices: Suffer elimination or use nuclear weapons."
