Canadian woman in ICE custody after allegedly assaulting teen wearing Trump clothing

A Canadian woman is being held by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement after she allegedly slapped a teen who was wearing clothing displaying the words "Trump" and "ICE." 

Kaitlyn E. Tracey, 33, approached a group of four girls on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk on July 3 and recorded them with her phone, NJ.com reported, citing court documents. 

She allegedly yelled at two people wearing "patriotic colored" sweatpants before she slapped the victim across her face and body, according to an affidavit of probable cause. The victim wasn't injured. 

Tracey left the area. Using surveillance video, police later identified, arrested and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment and obstruction. She is a Canadian citizen who entered the U.S. with a passport in 2024. 

She was turned over to ICE, according to a TikTok video posted by a man identifying himself as her husband.
