Kentucky Baptist church shooting suspect had domestic violence hearing the next day

The man accused of fatally shooting two people Sunday at a Lexington, Kentucky, church was expected in court Monday for a domestic violence hearing.

The suspect, Guy House, 47, allegedly first shot a state trooper during a traffic stop, fled the scene in a stolen car, then ended up at the church where she shot two women. House was killed by police at the scene.

He is said to have gone to the church looking for the mother of his children, though his domestic violence hearing did not involve her, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported.

On July 4, House broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and stole two firearms and her car. The act was in response to her ending their relationship, she told the Lexington Herald-Leader. The victim called the police and filed a restraining order. The local newspaper says they do not name victims of domestic violence. 

There is no information at this time that directly links the shooting to House’s domestic violence hearing.

The woman said she does not know whether House used her car or one of her firearms in the shooting, but police have the gun.

House reportedly had a lengthy criminal record.
