Man arrested at Atlanta airport after allegedly making threats

The man has been identified as Billy Joe Cagle, who was not armed when arrested, but authorities found an AR-15 assault rifle in his car.

Georgia law enforcement authorities on Monday arrested a man at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, after his family alerted police that he was making threats to shoot up the airport.

Authorities told CNN that the man, identified as Billy Joe Cagle, was not armed when he was arrested at the airport but that an AR-15 assault rifle was found in his car outside the airport. There were also 26 rounds of ammo in the magazine.

Cagle is facing charges including terroristic threats, criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Cagle was reportedly convicted of possession of marijuana more than two decades ago, according to Fox-13.
