The mother of the transgender shooter who shot multiple people and killed two children at a Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, has obtained a criminal defense attorney and is not speaking to the police, according to reports.

Mary Grace Westman, the mother of mass shooter Robin Westman, has a criminal defense attorney named Ryan Garry, according to Fox News.

Garry told Fox that Robin's mother is "completely distraught about the situation and has no culpability but is seeking an attorney to deal with calls like this."

During a Thursday press conference, Minneapolis police chief Brian O'Hara said multiple interviews were conducted with family members of the shooter and witnesses on the scene when the shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church occurred.

As of now, it's not clear why Ms. Westman isn't cooperating with the police.

On Wednesday, the shooter opened fire through the windows of the Catholic Church where mass was taking place, killing two children and injuring 18 others, including 15 children.
