Police say about $200K stolen from Shedeur Sanders' home in burglary
The Browns' rookie quarterback was making his NFL debut when the break-in occurred
Police say thieves stole roughly $200,000 worth of property Sunday from NFL rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders while his Cleveland Browns team was playing in Baltimore.
The robbery is the latest in which criminal taking advantage of knowing a wealthy professional athlete won't be at his home because he's playing a game at a stadium or arena.
Three masked and gloved suspects broke into Sanders’ home and stole items while he was making his NFL debut in a loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
“Mentally, emotionally, I’m in a great place overall,” Sanders said when asked about the burglary. “In life, there’s always gonna be adversity, things aren’t always gonna go as planned, but I would say … I’m prepared for everything.”
Most recently, the home of NBA reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was robbed Oct. 30 while his Oklahoma City Thunder team was playing the Washington Wizards.
Gilgeous-Alexander did not say whether anything was taken but said “everybody's safe, and that's all that really matters in the whole thing.”
Other high-profile names to deal with break-ins over the last couple of years include the NBA's Luka Doncic and the NFL's Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Travis Kelce.
