Roommate, brothers of Laken Riley's murderer to be deported for possession of fake green cards

The roommate and two brothers of Laken Riley's killer, Jose Ibarra, are set to be deported after having pleaded guilty to having fake green cards and being sentenced for the crime.
In February of 2024, Riley, a Georgia nursing student was killed by Ibarra, 27, who was an illegal immigrant. He was convicted of murder nine months later.
On Wednesday, Ibarra's brother, Diego Ibarra, 29, was sentenced to four years in federal prison and will be deported after he completes his sentence.
He was taken into custody after he gave a police officer investigating Riley' 2024 death a fake green card, according to the Justice Department.
The so-called "green card" is officially known as a Permanent Resident Card and allows an immigrant to live and work permanently in the United States.
Ibarra's other brother Argenis Ibarra, 25, and a former roommate, Rosbeli Flores-Bello, 29, also admitted to having fake green cards being investigated by agents, according to The Associated Press.
Argenis and Flores-Bello both pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a fraudulent document in December 2024. On Wednesday, they were turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It is not known when they will be deported.
