Legal team for Sean 'Diddy' reached out to Trump for pardon

The legal team for convicted music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has reportedly reached out to President Trump in the hopes of securing a pardon for its client.
A New York City jury earlier this month convicted the musician and hip-hop mogul on two counts of interstate prostitution. Comb awaits behind bars for sentencing in October. He faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.
A source close to his legal team has reached out to the Trump administration in the hopes of securing a pardon, NBC reported.
In a Newsmax interview on Friday, President Trump was asked about Combs.
“You know, I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great. And he seemed like a nice guy, I didn’t know him well,” Trump said. “But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”
Trump then said it was more likely that he would not pardon Combs.
NBC reported a White House official stated that the White House "will not comment on the existence or nonexistence of any clemency request.”
Combs' plea for bail was denied again Monday by a federal judge, as he awaits sentencing.
