The Beatles' Anthology 2025 to be release in November, documentary series on Disney+
The three albums from the 1990s Anthology will be remastered and re-released, along with a new fourth volume including unheard tracks from the 1994-95 sessions
The Beatles' Anthology 2025 will be released in November with a new fourth album and a remastered and expanded documentary series on the Disney+ streaming platform.
The band’s official website made the announcement on Thursday, after Paul McCartney, 83, one of the two surviving members of the band alongside Ringo Starr, 85, teased it on Tuesday, NBC News reported.
Anthology 2025 is a reboot of the mid-1990s multimedia project that reunited McCartney, Starr, and George Harrison, and included three double CD albums, a TV documentary, and two new songs, "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love." The albums included studio outtakes and alternate versions of songs.
The TV documentary series showed The Beatles from their beginning to their end in 1970. "Lord of the Rings" director Peter Jackson restored the series, which will stream on Disney+ starting Nov. 26 and include a new ninth episode that shows behind-the-scenes footage from the "Anthology" reunion in 1994-95.
The three albums from the 1990s Anthology are also to be remastered and re-released, along with a new fourth volume including unheard tracks from the 1994-95 sessions. The music will be released on Nov. 21.
McCartney continues to tour and play The Beatles' classics, with his U.S. tour to start in Palm Springs, Calif., on Sept. 27.
