Black comedian in whiteface mocking Erika Kirk sparks backlash
Husband Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in September 2025.
A black comedian named Drew Desbordes, who goes by "Druski," is facing criticism for posting a video in which he wears whiteface and mocks Erika Kirk after the fatal shooting of her husband, Charlie Kirk.
Druski posted the video Wednesday on X in which he wears a blonde wig, makeup, a cross necklace and prosthetics. The post reads, "How Conservative Women in America act."
OutKick Founder Clay Travis reposted Druski's video, writing, "Erika Kirk’s husband was assassinated in September. It’s March & a black comedian is putting on white face & mocking her in a video. Honest question, if a prominent black leader had been assassinated & a white comedian put on blackface & mocked his widow, what would happen?"
In the video, the comedian mocked several of Kirk's viral public appearances after her husband's death in September 2025, the Daily Mail reported.
Druski starts the video wearing a white pantsuit while dancing on a stage with sparklers, a podium, and an American flag, mocking Kirk's appearance during Turning Point USA's memorial service for her husband.
Then, the video shows Druski holding a mock press conference in which he says, "We're praying for all the soldiers and troops."
"That's great that you're praying, but-," a mock reporter began, while another interjects, asking about children dying in an attack by the U.S.
"It broke my heart," Druski said, in an exaggerated tone.
In the video, a mock interviewer asks Kirk, as portrayed by Druski, "In what ways have you grown closer to Jesus?"
Druski replies: "I serve a righteous God and that is why we say our prayers. We are all his children. But when I say children, I mean the holy blessed Trinity, which is why I hold the Bible."
Investigative journalist Lara Logan shared Travis' post, saying, "This is disgusting. No basic human decency. For God’s sake – leave Erika Kirk alone."
