The Drug Enforcement Administration is joining other agencies looking into the death of actress Hayden Panettiere.
The Greenville City Police Department is the lead investigating agency trying to determine what caused her unexpected death on Sunday, but the DEA is also assisting, ABC News reported, citing unnamed sources.
Officers responded to a report of an unresponsive woman at the Judson Mill Lofts in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday afternoon. Life-saving measures were given to the woman, later identified as Panettiere, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
No cause of death has been provided, but a preliminary investigation removed no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.
Panettiere began her career as a child star, and she would go on to have roles in both television and film.
In interviews and her memoir titled "This is Me: A Reckoning," which was published in May, Panetierre provided details about alcoholism, postpartum depression and domestic abuse.
